As we’ve seen multiple times over, not every movie based on a well known property makes it a guarantee for the big screen success. 20th Century Fox failed in relaunching “The Planet Of The Apes” the first time out when they handed the keys to Tim Burton and Mark Wahlberg in 2001. A decade later they tried again with “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes” and beating everyone’s expectation they scored, and they had another hit two years later with “Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.” Now the question is how much bigger can the franchise get with “War For The Planet Of The Apes,” and we’re about to find out.

Starring Woody Harrelson, Andy Serkis, Judy Greer, and Steve Zahn, with ‘Dawn’ director Matt Reeves back behind the camera, the third installment in the new series which sees Caesar rising to greater heights of power, but also struggling with the relationships he’s forged to humankind. Who would’ve thought the ‘Apes’ franchise would have some interesting ideas behind it? Goes to show you really never can tell. Here’s the official synopsis:
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind.
