Do young "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" fans even get the reference we're making in the headline? Are we that old or are they that young? But if it gets youngsters to borrow their older brother or sister's copy of Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction," than that's a good thing at the least.
Amanda Plummer has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel to the hit film "The Hunger Games." In 'Catching Fire,' Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) — a competition that could change Panem forever. Plummer plays Wiress, who also has the nickname “Nuts” from fellow tributes, and though she doesn’t communicate traditionally, her observations and contributions prove invaluable in the Quarter Quell.
Seems like spot on casting, but what do you fans think? Either way, it looks like another eclectic cast is being lined up for the film that now includes Jena Malone and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Franicis Lawrence directs and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" hits theaters on November 22, 2013.
