'Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell' Trailer: Netflix's New Doc Tells The Life Story Of One Of Hip-Hop's Greatest

In just under a month, it will officially be 24 years since Christopher Wallace, aka the Notorious BIG, aka Biggie Smalls, was murdered at the height of his fame. Sadly, at the time of his death, he was only 24 years old. That means, if he was still alive today, the rapper would still be younger than 50 years old. However, in such a short time as a rapper and with an enduring legacy, Biggie has remained one of the most influential musical artists of all time. And that’s exactly what is covered in the new Netflix documentary, “Biggie: I Got A Story To Tell.”

As seen in the trailer for ‘Biggie,’ the Netflix doc aims to show the humble beginnings in Brooklyn where Wallace sold drugs and was involved in criminal activity just to provide for his daughter. And then, his sudden, meteoric rise to fame as one of the most talented hip-hop artists to ever live. With unseen footage and new interviews with family and friends, ‘Biggie’ is the complete story of a talent that was taken way too soon.

‘Biggie’ is directed by Emmett Malloy, one half of the music video-directing duo The Malloys. Over the past 20+ years, Malloy has had his hand in dozens of music videos from artists such as Ben Harper, Metallica, The White Stripes, The Black Eye Peas, and Beck. However, in recent years, he’s also worked on several sports documentaries, including “The Offseason” and “Dream Team.”
