Bill Murray is a man that clearly gives absolutely zero fucks and does whatever projects he wants to do. And while that doesn’t mean his output is high volume, it does mean that there’s a specific reason that he puts his name and face in a film or TV series. So, with that in mind, suddenly we find ourselves interested in the upcoming streaming series “The Now,” which is coming to the upstart mobile platform, Quibi.
According to Variety, Murray has agreed to play a recurring role in the upcoming series that is created and produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Farrelly and will star Dave Franco. The series stars Franco as a man that is on the verge of committing suicide but then finds out from his mother that his brother just killed himself and his father did the same thing previously. This leads the helpless man to change his life and live in…wait for it…the now.

While it’s unclear what Murray’s role in the series might be, it’s reported that he’s already filmed his parts for the series. However, “The Now” is still in the middle of production. Peter Farrelly is joined by his brother Bobby Farrelly as directors on the project. He’s also joined by Pete Jones and Steve Leff as writers on “The Now.”
Murray and Franco aren’t the only quality names in the cast of “The Now.” Joining those gentlemen are O’Shea Jackson Jr., Daryl Hannah, Jimmy Tatro, Alyssa Milano, Rob Yang, and Lex Scott Davis.
Quibi is set to launch in April and is focused on the mobile streaming audience. The platform differs from its streaming competition by breaking up its series and films into 10-minute chunks that would be easily consumable while people are out and about.
