'Birdman' Leads 2015 Golden Globe Nominations

BirdmanWe’ve seen countless critics groups awards, but now it’s time for the big players to step into the game. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association have named the nominees for this year’s Golden Globes, and "Birdman" has come out on top.

The wildly ambitious showbiz dramedy landed seven nominations, including Best Picture (Comedy Or Musical), Best Director, Best Actor (Comedy Or Musical), and Best Screenplay, which gives you an idea of where this could threaten at the Oscars. Coming in not far behind was "Boyhood" and "The Imitation Game" with five nods each, "Gone Girl" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" with four per, and "Selma" and "Foxcatcher" each scoring three. In terms of surprises, yes, Jennifer Aniston for "Cake" is still a thing, while Julianne Moore nabbed nods for both "Still Alice" and "Maps To The Stars."

Meanwhile in TV, there was lots of love shown for "True Detective," "Fargo," and "House Of Cards." We’re very pleased to see Clive Owen score a nomination for his stellar work on "The Knick." Newcomers "Jane the Virgin" and "Transparent" also got some attention.
