‘Black & Blue’ Trailer: Naomie Harris & Tyrese Gibson Team-Up To Take Down Crooked Cops

Coming this fall and directed by the indefatigable Deon Taylor (“Meet the Blacks,” “Supremacy”), the filmmaker is having quite the year. Between 2018 and 2019, he’s made three films: “Traffik,” “The Intruder,” and his upcoming crime thriller “Black and Blue” which just released its first trailer tonight. I’m not sure what kind of steroids he’s on, but according to IMDB, Taylor also has three more films in post-production: “The House Next Door,” “Fatale” and “Akuma.” Taylor apparently doesn’t sleep.

His latest is a cop drama/street crime thriller starring Naomie Harris, Tyrese Gibson, and Frank Grillo and it’s about negative exposure that follows a rookie Detroit African-American female cop (Harris) who stumbles upon corrupt officers who are murdering a drug dealer, an incident captured by her body cam.

The movie also co-stars Mike Colter (“Luke Cage”), Reid Scott Beau Knapp, and Nafessa William. Here’s the official synopsis:

BLACK AND BLUE is a fast-paced action thriller about a rookie cop (Naomie Harris) who inadvertently captures the murder of a young drug dealer on her body cam. After realizing that the murder was committed by corrupt cops, she teams up with the one person from her community who is willing to help her (Tyrese Gibson) as she tries to escape both the criminals out for revenge and the police who are desperate to destroy the incriminating footage.

The drama is written by Peter A. Dowling, known for “Flightplan” with Jodie Foster and “Sacrifice” starring Emily Blunt. “Black And Blue”is scheduled for release on October 25, later this fall. Watch the trailer below.
