A couple of offer stories, courtesy of Pajiba, have made their way online and as per usual we give you a caveat that these are just offers and nothing more (at this point).
First up, Bradley Cooper has been offered the lead in a rom-com script titled “TMI,” or “Too Much Information.” The script, from writers Marc Klein (“The Good Year”) and Kristen Smith (“The House Bunny”), is the story of “two ‘just friends’ types who finally realize they’re made for each other after a drug-induced evening of debauchery.” If it sounds a little dated, the script was reportedly pitched as a cross between “Along Came Polly” and “Keeping The Faith,” two films that haven’t exactly stayed with audiences. Anna Faris is attached as the female lead and Ryan Reynolds was at one point attached, but has surely moved on to better things — comic book properties “Green Lantern”, poised to make an appearance at Comic-Con ’10, and “Deadpool” for starters.
In our second bit of casting news, Jim Carrey has been offered a role in the film “Wonderstone” from “Horrible Bosses” writers John Francis Daley and Jonathon Goldstein. The film is the story of “a magician who loses everything after his ego and his refusal to do new tricks leads his partner to leave him and his show is canceled. Burt’s childhood idol eventually reminds Burt what magic is all about, and Burt has to convince his partner to return so they can pull off that one magic trick that has eluded him.” Carrey, whose last major picture was the seemingly cursed “I Love You Philip Morris” has been eyeing the lead in Noah Baumbauch’s “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” and could use another bankable role to propel him back into the public consciousness.
So, will they? Won’t they? Who knows. As with most offers, this is probably one of many crossing their agents’ desks and if you’ve ever seen an episode of “Entourage,” there are a lot more steps to be made before they sign on and things get moving.
