Brian Grazer Says '24' Movie Coming In 2012

While actual details of who is actually doing what on the gestating film version of the hit TV series “24,” Kiefer Sutherland just can’t stop talking about it. Last month he hit “The View” and said the film was coming next year and that elements of Billy Ray’s script (which was rejected by the studio) will be utilized. “Billy did a fantastic job and there are aspects of that story [that will remain],” Sutherland said. “I couldn’t be more thrilled.” He also said that Tony Scott was working on the film, though that has yet to be confirmed. But leave it to mega-producer Brian Grazer to keep the buzz going about the movie.

The awesomely haired producer recently hit Twitter (via THR) and posted, “Got off the phone Keifer yesterday and we are very excited about producing the ‘24′ movie for next year.” So take that as confirmation that Sutherland wasn’t just talking about it; there appears to be actual movement on this thing.

So who is going to direct? Who is writing the script? What’s the release date? Wish we could tell you. But all we can say right now is that if Brian Grazer says it’s happening, then it’s happening. Sutherland recently did the web series “The Confession” and he’s in Lars Von Trier‘s “Melancholia” which is more than likely to hit Cannes next month. So if you see Jack Bauer on the Croisette, try and squeeze him for details.
