No matter how many movies and TV series are made about the dangers of artificial intelligence, billionaires and tech companies around the world still are hellbent on marching us closer to our inevitable demise at the hands of the AI-infused robot overlords. Well, maybe the world needs a new TV series about AI starring Brian Tyree Henry and Kate Mara to learn our lesson once and for all.
According to Variety, Brian Tyree Henry and Kate Mara are cast as the two leads in the forthcoming series, “Class of ‘09,” which is set to debut on FX on Hulu. The series follows a group of FBI agents that graduated from the academy in 2009 as they reunite years later to mourn the death of a friend. The series is said to take place in three separate timelines that show just how artificial intelligence has affected law enforcement over the years and how it might be used in the future. I’m sure it all works out well and it’s totally not scary at all. The new series is written by “American Crime Story’s” Tom Rob Smith.
Henry is probably best known for his work on the FX hit series, “Atlanta.” However, over the last several years, he’s risen to become one of the biggest names in films, as well, appearing in features such as “Widows,” “If Beale Street Could Talk,” “Godzilla vs. Kong,” and the forthcoming Marvel Studios film, “Eternals.”

Mara is also no stranger to FX, having recently starred in the critically-acclaimed limited series, “A Teacher,” as well as “American Horror Story” and the recently-ended drama, “Pose.” She’s also no stranger to films, appearing in features such as “Fantastic Four,” “Megan Leavey,” and “The Martian.”
No release date has been set for “Class of ‘09,” but this is a series that only strengthens the growing library of titles on FX on Hulu.
