'X': Brittany Snow Joins The Cast Of Ti West's Horror Film For A24

She may have sung her way to the ICCA Finals in “Pitch Perfect,” but before that, Brittany Snow dipped her toes in the horror genre with “Prom Night.” Now, she returns to horror in Ti West‘s A24 project, “X,” joining an impressive cast that includes Kid Cudi and Mia Goth.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on Brittany Snow joining the cast of “X.” We still don’t know many details about the story, which was written by West himself, but insiders have told THR the film is “about the making of an adult film.” The project is being co-financed by A24 and Bron. In addition to A24, Jacob Jaffke, Kevin Turen, Sam Levinson, and Ashley Levinson are producing, while Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi) is exec producing.

It’s been almost five years since West’s last feature, the 2016 western “In The Valley Of Violence” which starred Ethan Hawke and John Travolta, meaning this is also a return to horror for West. An enthusiast for slow-burn thrills, West hasn’t let himself be restrained by a single genre, changing approach in every project he’s made so far.

In addition to starring in “X,” Brittany Snow has expanded her behind-the-camera work and is prepping her first feature, “9/17” which he co-wrote. Snow showed great comedic timing in the “Pitch Perfect” movies, but also showed to be game for scares and thrills with her roles in “Prom Night” and “The Vicious Kind.”

There’s no release date set for “X” but production is expected to begin sometime in early 2021.
