'Broad City' Hack Into Inauguration Day: It's Going To Get 'I Am Legend' Up In Here

Like it or not, you should probably get ready for four years of dissent. And yes, a lot of it is going to come from the entertainment industry in the form of jokes and jabs at President YouKnowHisNameNotGonnaSayItAloud. But some people are just damn angry and using that energy to create some laughs. We’re not sure if you’re following the Twitter accounts of the “Broad City” girls, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, but they’re hopping mad today (well, ok, at least Glazer is). And to commemorate Inauguration Day, the comedians are going back to their roots and have created an online short (they essentially got their start through YouTube comedy sketches).

Titled, “Hack Into Broad City – Inauguration – Uncensored,” the gag is Abbie and Ilana panicking during an anxious Facetime chat about Trump being sworn into office. Jacobson’s stuck in an elevator having just had her upper lip waxed (“Look, I don’t want a moustache for the apocalypse”) and all hell is breaking loose in their mental state as they count the seconds down until Trump becomes…you know, the leader of America. “It’s going to get ‘I Am Legend’ up in here!,“ Glazer screams, referencing the post-apocalyptic Will Smith film from 2007. While Comedy Central bleeps out all their vulgarities on air, in this YouTube clip the f-bombs are a-flying.

It’s pretty amusing especially when they get into their harangues about our new overlords (“Pence is like a wooden doll from the ‘50s,” “People are gonna be grabbin’ shit!”), but they do have a plan: “We’ll just Google how to Google our local representatives.” Good stuff.

“Broad City” season four doesn’t return to Comedy Central until August, so this amusing clip will have to tide you over until then.
