Bullshit Rumors We Love On A Sunday: From The Director Of 'X-Men' Comes 'Lady Gaga: The Movie'

Who’s ready for their weekly heap of bullshit as early as Sunday? The News of the World (vaguely NSFW link – rated PG-13 for Gagaboobs), a tabloid-y piece of silliness, is claiming that Lady Gaga is hot to make her cinematic debut. The source claims she wants to be the star of a “big budget blockbuster” that serves as “a cross between Michael Jackson’s ’80s ‘Moonwalker’ flick and Beyonce’s more recent ‘Dreamgirls,'” a quote that screams accuracy. Moreover, the source claims, “Bryan Singer- the man behind ‘X-Men’ and ‘The Usual Suspects’ – is being discussed as a potential boss for the project.”

Gaga clearly has an interest in films, as her videos are sharply cinematic and visually striking, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see her eventually making a Lady Gaga movie. Though it’s not likely someone like Singer, busy prepping a long shoot for “Jack the Giant Killer” and otherwise engaged in a number of potential projects, is going to jump ship for an extended music video. He also doesn’t seem like the right fit for something this extravagant and ridiculous and oh god we’re talking like this is a serious movie and it really really isn’t.

Fortunately, she might not have to wait for her own lead role, as the publication confidently reports, “Director Quentin Tarantino is already a fan of Gaga and has been interested in offering her a role, possibly as an assassin.” Considering Tarantino solely makes movies about hitmen, this might be an extremely reliable account of what’s happening in Hollywood! In related news, Kevin Smith will be remaking “Chasing Amy” with Ke$ha, and Nicholas Meyer intends to cast Debbie Gibson in a musical inspired by “Flashdance.”
