Well, here’s some news that will cause a disturbance in the force. "Star Wars" fans around the world are already taking December 18th off work, and plotting their lineup and ticket purchasing strategies so that they can be among the first to see the next chapter in the saga, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." However, for those in the U.K. and France, the movie will be awakening a little bit sooner.
The official Facebook page for "Star Wars U.K." has revealed that ‘The Force Awakens’ will open on December 17th. And no, this is not a typo or a social media accident, as the account verified the intel in the comments section of the post. BBC has also confirmed the news, and revealed that France gets the movie two days earlier on December 16th. No word on why those territories are getting an early jump (maybe Disney wants to really pad out those opening weekend worldwide box office numbers), but you might want to mute social media accounts from across the pond on those days to steer free of spoilers.
For everyone else, we’ll have to wait a crushing twenty-four hours longer to see the film on December 18th.
