Well played HBO, well played. The cable outlet hasn’t stopped finding new ways to promo the biggest show on their slate, including the recent announcement of “The Epic Fan Experience” on March 20th at the Cushman & Wakefield Theater at Barclays Center in Brooklyn that will treat 7000 fans to an advanced screening of the fourth season’s debut episode. Tickets cost $15, go on sale through Ticketmaster on March 6th for $15, with all proceeds to going to charity. But if you’re not in Brooklyn or don’t want to shell out $15 for one episode, here’s another way to ride the “Game Of Thrones” pre-season train.
Wall Street Journal reports that this Friday, HBO will drop Catch The Throne, a hip-hop and Latin themed mixtape that will try to engage African American and Latino viewers to watch the show, while providing everyone with free music. Big Boi, Common, Wale, Daddy Yankee and Bodega Bamz are among the artists featured. Oh, and expect this level of rhyming: “I sit and think when I’m in my zone / This life is like a Game of Thrones.” (Yes, that’s an actual lyric from Common).
The mixtape drops on Friday. Until then here’s a new poster for season four which kicks off on April 6th along with the Stark Direwolf teaser.
