While The CW has managed to become a viable television home for superheroes —I didn’t think it would last a full season, but "Arrow" is still going strong, and "The Flash" is running some decent laps— that network is not alone. ABC has "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Agent Carter," and now CBS is gearing up "Supergirl." Crucially, the show has found their lead.
Vulture reveals that Melissa Benoist will play Kara Zor-El. Wait, who? Well, you might know the actress from a stint during the latter-era of "Glee" and more recently for briefly romancing Miles Teller in "Whiplash," before he dumped her so he could play drums better. And while this is ordinarily the point at which I’d throw some shade on yet another superhero series, it looks like these days it would be foolish to bet against them.
Meanwhile, in DC’s big screen universe, "Suicide Squad" still needs to find a replacement for Tom Hardy-vacated role of Rick Flagg (in case you missed it, Jake Gyllenhaal turned down the gig). But another part has reportedly been cast, with Latino Review revealing that Gary Sinise is in talks for the part of General Eiling. He basically creates Captain Atom and is a foe of Justice League. You can read all about the character right here.
UNCONFIRMED TWITTER RUMOR: Pending more concrete sourcing, I hear Gary Sinise supposedly in talks to join SUICIDE SQUAD as GENERAL EILING.
