'Chambers' First Look: New "F---ed Up" Netflix Horror Series Stars Uma Thurman

If you’re a fan of horror films and TV series, hearing the creator say the project is “fucked up” is probably enough to get you more than excited to watch. It’s akin to the old Siskel & Ebert “Two Thumbs Up” rating for films. Netflix’s upcoming series “Chambers” boasts the above description, and making it even more intriguing, Uma Thurman is leading the cast.

“Chambers” revolves around a heart attack survivor that begins obsessing over the transplanted heart she was given that saves her life. As she descends down the rabbit hole, investigating the donor’s life and sudden death, the young woman begins taking on the characteristics of the deceased. Yeah, that sounds like a fairly common premise for a horror film or TV show, but the creator explains it in a way that should entice even the most cynical of genre fans.

“Chambers” creator Leah Rachel said, “Taking place in a mystic, New Age pocket of Arizona, Chambers is a psychological horror story that explores the different ways we metabolize trauma. But what starts out as a grounded human story eventually pivots into something far more strange and fucked up than you were expecting.”

Joining Thurman in the cast are Tony Goldwyn, Sivan Alyra Rose, Lilliya Reid, Nicholas Galitzine, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Lilli Kay, Sarah Mezzanotte, and Griffin Powell-Arcand.

“Chambers” launches on Netflix on April 26.

Here’s the synopsis, as well as the first images from the upcoming series:

A young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister. Chambers will premiere globally on Netflix April 26, 2019.
