‘Chaos Walking’ Debuts A New Clip To Announce The Latest Delay For The Tom Holland/Daisy Ridley Film

At what point do we just assume that “Chaos Walking” is never going to arrive in theaters? I know this is hyperbole because Lionsgate just announced yet another delay but seems to have settled on a firm release date. But after literal years of delays, even adding two more months just feels like it’s never-ending. The newest delay, however, does come with a free clip of the film to tide you over, so at least there’s that!

To announce that “Chaos Walking” will now arrive in March instead of January, Lionsgate is premiering a quick clip showing the film’’s two stars, Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, meeting for the first time in the story. The film follows a post-apocalyptic world where most of the women have died and thoughts are no longer private, instead, they’re broadcast like holograms outside of your head. Obviously, this leads to awkwardness when Holland’s character meets a girl for the first time.

As alluded to, if the film does finally arrive in March 2021, that will be a full two years after its original release date of March 2019. The film was actually filmed in 2017 but was delayed and ultimately went back into reshoots in 2019. (That’s a whole other story.) Then with the pandemic last year, the film has lingered like the rest of the Hollywood blockbusters. But now, finally, it appears that Lionsgate is ready to pull the trigger on the troubled film.
