“Daredevil” season two is almost upon us and while our review isn’t out yet, you should expect an increase of blood, gore and punishing violence in the Hell’s Kitchen-set series’ second installment (and we thought rent was the worst things you had to worry about in this neighborhood). As the Man Without Fear prepares to assault audiences on Friday — the day Netflix unleashes the entire second season — the streaming site and Marvel are going into into the final stretch of promotion.
One thing’s certain about Matt Murdoch and Daredevil this season, the violence is certainly amplified even without the vengeful Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal). With the addition of The Punisher and Elektra (Elodie Yung), Entertainment Weekly asked Charlie Cox if these new players and their fractured relationships will prepare him for his status as an eventual member of The Defenders — The Hell’s Kitchen super hero team that will eventually feature Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

“I think quite possibly, but I don’t think he has any knowledge of that. I don’t think that he could even fathom that that is a possibility,” Cox said about the team-up that lies in store sometime in the future. But the actor did say, it’s possible season two is hinting that the lone wolf character may not play nice in a team dynamic.
“Something that’s very tricky for Matt is to allow anyone to help him. He finds it impossible to ask for help, for a number of reasons. One, because he doesn’t want to endanger people that he loves, but also because he has an arrogance, he has a self-confidence and a belief, and I think at times a belief in his own invincibility. Which is false, that he can do it all by himself, and it’s very stubborn at times, very deluded at times,” Cox added.
Sounds like some good fodder for butting heads with other team members. “One of the lessons that he’s going to have to learn this season is that he needs other people, he needs help, we all need help," he continued. "And hopefully, that will therefore mentally prepare him for what’s coming, which is — and I don’t know what the dynamic of the Defenders will be — but if that is going to be a team-up, then he’s going to have to learn those lessons in Season 2.”
