As the title suggests, “The School for Good and Evil” is a YA fantasy film based on the novel by author Soman Chainani. The story follows two young girls who are friends that are chosen to go to the rival fairy-tale schools, one for Good and the other for Evil. As you may be gleaning, this is definitely a film that has strong ‘Harry Potter’ vibes, and much like that film franchise, the cast is clearly going to be rounded out by veteran actors taking the adult roles. Feige announced that Washington is set to play Professor Dovey, while Theron will portray Lady Lesso.

Washington is probably best known for her award-winning role as the lead in the ABC series, “Scandal.” She’s also appeared in a number of other projects, most recently showing up in the Netflix film, “The Prom,” and the Hulu limited series, “Little Fires Everywhere.”

Theron is an Oscar-winning actress that has appeared in numerous huge films over her career. Features such a “Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Fate of the Furious,” and most recently, “The Old Guard.” She’s also set to reprise her role in the ‘Fast’ franchise in the upcoming film, “F9.”
