'Children Of Men' Producer Options Gritty 'Psychopomp' Described As Mix Between 'A Clockwork Orange' & 'The Dark Knight'

Hilary Shor, one of the producers behind Alfonso Cuarón’s grim sci-fi tale “Children Of Men,” is hoping to recreate that success with another dour, dark picture, titled “Psychopomp.”

Written by Blake Leibel, Shor and Lawrence Longo will produce and develop the film about the titular character, “a foul-mouthed anti-hero who roams international hot spots with state-of-the art weapons and technology with the aim of destroying those who violate his code.” The film is described as a cross between “A Clockwork Orange” and “The Dark Knight,” which should set fanboy antennas on alert everywhere.

“This is the evil twin of the ‘Children of Men’ future world Alfonso created,” said Shor who also plans to develop the property into a graphic novel. Obviously in early days, and bear in mind it took nine years for Shor to get “Children Of Men” to the big screen, but with the weighty comparisons already being thrown around, interest in the project from talent and studios could come very quickly.
