Chloe Moretz Is Going To 'Dark Places' With Charlize Theron

She’s only sixteen, but the rise of Chloe Moretz has been nothing short of remarkable. It’s hard to believe it was only four years ago that she appeared as the kid sister in “(500) Days Of Summer.” This year she’s got big movies on the way, with the sequel “Kick-Ass 2” (which recently dropped a trailer just focused on her character) and horror remake “Carrie” (new trailer coming this week). And now it looks like she’s lining up a drama based on a book by one of the hottest authors of the moment.

Deadline reports that Moretz is in negotiations to join Charlize Theron in “Dark Places,” an adaptation of the novel by Gillian Flynn. As you’ll recall, none other that David Fincher is currently gearing up the writer’s “Gone Girl,” but this project is just as intriguing. The story centers on Libby Day, who as a teenager witnesses her family get murdered, and testifies against her brother when he is tried for the crime. 25 years later, Libby is brought before the secretive, crime-solving Kill Club who want to uncover the truth about what happened.

Moretz would take the role of Diondra in the movie, which is being written and directed by “Sarah’s Key” helmer Gilles Paquet-Brenner. Producers seem eager to get this one in front of cameras quickly (they wanted to start filming last month) and we presume the addition of Moretz means filming should be getting under way sooner rather than later.
