Chloe Moretz Joins Olivier Assayas' Meta 'Sils Maria' With Juliette Binoche & Mia Wasikowska

Chloe MoretzYeah, yeah we know. IFC Films just picked up Olivier Assayas‘ “Sils Maria,” even though it hasn’t shot a single frame, but perhaps they saw this casting coming and realized this is something they wanted to get their hands on.

Deadline reports that Chloe Moretz is in talks to join Juliette Binoche and Mia Wasikowska in the movie, which is sounding like a particularly meta little picture. Written by Assayas, who collaborated closely with Binoche, the story centers on an older actress who becomes obsessed over by a younger thesp (Moretz), who is taking a role made famous by the woman when she was younger. Got all that? So it’s reflection of past choices through the lens of the movie industry it would seem, a particularly fascinating prospect. As for Wasikowska, she will play Binoche’s assistant.

Production will be begin later this year as we presume Cannes honcho Thierry Fremaux is already making a few calls to try and lock this down for his 2014 lineup.
