'Choke' Director Apologizes To Radiohead Over "Score" Gaffe

Remember when “Choke” author Chuck Palahniuk was like, “Radiohead Scored The Movie Adapation of My Book ‘Choke’!” and were, “umm, no they didn’t” and then the rest of the world that reported this error verbatim changed their tune and were, “Oh, actually….”

“Choke” director Clark Gregg apologized for the confusion in a cheeky manner to MTV claiming the British rockers did much more than write the film’s score. “[In fact, Radiohead] wrote most of the script! They did a lot of the catering. They actually hand sewed most of the costumes but because they don’t want people to know how much work they did we’ve promised to keep it secret. For now we’re just saying they gave us the one song.”

“My role actually performed by Thom Yorke,” Gregg continued, laughing. “But I cant reveal that for another six years. It’s just a part of the contract.”

So what actually happened?

“I think there was some confusion. I think it came out of a trip to Europe that Chuck and I made. Suddenly BBC radio was reporting that Radiohead had done an original score. I wrote them a letter of apology and just to make it up to them I went to their concert in LA and worshipped them.”

It’s true. We went to a screening of “Choke” in the summer and Gregg couldn’t stop talking about the music and his love for Thom Yorke and co. Apology accepted, dude (even if In Rainbows is rather eh and Chuck did fuck up to the BCC ;). “Choke” hits theaters September 26 via Fox Searchlight. We need to write our review and post the Gregg Q&A soon.
