After years of constant questions to the director and cast, and some amount of hype, “T2 Trainspotting” arrived this spring and….barely made a ripple. Stateside, the film did a mere $2.4 million, but overseas things fared much better, as Danny Boyle‘s picture tallied $39.2 million. However, the picture didn’t capture pop culture attention the way its predecessor did two decades ago, which is a shame because, though uneven, and obviously never reaching the classic heights of “Trainspotting,” the sequel was a warm, respectful return to the original cast and characters. Well, if the movie passed you by, now you can get a pretty good dose of what you missed.
Sony has dropped the first ten minutes of the film online, and it’s mildly NSFW (there’s some swearing). It’s a pretty good capsule of where all the characters pick up, with Renton returning home, Spud still battling his demons, Begbie sitting in prison, and Simon working on a new scam.
If you like what you see, “T2 Trainspotting” is now on Blu-ray and digital.
