Chris Pine & Christoph Waltz Sought For 'Horrible Bosses 2'

Chris Pine

Update: Chris Pine is confirmed. Waltz, as expected, has passed.

Horrible Bosses 2” is a thing that is happening mostly because the first film, surprisingly, took in over $200 million worldwide. It seemed audiences loved bad wigs and famous people playing mean bosses, because the movie itself wasn’t so hot. But the concept is an easy sell and if they can recruit more people to gleefully give Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day and Jason Bateman a hard time, this thing will market itself.

So with that in mind, it appears that Christoph Waltz and Chris Pine are being sought to play a father/son team of bosses who are awful. Ha ha? Deadline says Waltz isn’t available for the role, which is fine by us, because we’re sorta tired of seeing him boxed into his “Inglourious Basterds” role. However, Pine “might do it.” And kudos to him we suppose, though he doesn’t have quite the persona of someone like Jennifer Aniston or Colin Farrell from the previous movie to make that choice seem particularly interesting or transgressive. Shrug?

Anyway, this continues to develop and we’ll soon see who will be directed by Sean Anders of “Sex Drive” and “That’s My Boy” fame.
