"Wonder Woman" now has a love interest. As Warner Bros. gears up their next DC Comics movie that isn’t "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" or "Suicide Squad," a new face has joined the mix.
Variety reports that Chris Pine will take the role of Steve Trevor. He doesn’t have any special powers except the ability to wield mighty romance. As it goes in the comics, he’s a WWII pilot whose plane crashes in the Amazon where he’s nursed back to health by Wonder Woman, and love blooms. When she joins the real world, Steve becomes her partner and co-worker (she takes the name Diana Price). And, as it also goes in the comics, he winds up constantly in peril and she has to rescue him. Obviously, things will probably change in the Jason Fuchs ("Pan") script for the movie, which seems to have won out in the screenwriter battle royale on the project.
Oh, and if you were wondering what happened to Scott Eastwood rumored to be playing the same part in "Suicide Squad," well he did join that Warner Bros. super villains movie, but apparently as a totally different and still unknown character.
