Chris Pratt Isn't Happy With Fans Blaming Star-Lord For The Ending of 'Infinity War'

Marvel Studios is known for having a fairly rabid fanbase. And you better believe that after “Avengers: Infinity War” seemingly “killed” most of the heroes, that fanbase is going to have thoughts. Well, after the dust has settled, many fans have come to the conclusion that the character most responsible for their heartbreak isn’t Thanos. No, it’s Star-Lord.

The Star-Lord Blamers do have a fairly logical point. They say that the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy ruined the plan to take off Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet by punching the villain in the face after learning of Gamora’s death. Well, one person who doesn’t necessarily subscribe to this thinking is Star-Lord himself, Chris Pratt.

Speaking to Radio Times, the actor defends his character’s actions in the superhero film:

“Look – the guy watched his mother die, he watched as his father-figure died in his arms, he was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a thing.”

However, to appease fans, Pratt did say that there could have been one change to the film, but even then, it doesn’t seem like a good idea. “I guess you could have the movie end a half hour earlier if you wanted, but it seemed like people really liked this,” he continued.

Finishing his train of thought, the actor then moves on to the character he blames for the sad ending to the film – Thanos.

“And also, I blame Thanos, OK?” Pratt added. “Jeez, how come he’s not getting any blame?”

“Clearly I’m very sensitive about this,” he laughed.

We’ll have to wait until May 2019 to see if Star-Lord returns from the dead (likely) and if he’ll have any redemption (also likely) when the untitled ‘Avengers 4’ is released.
