Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Scott Porter & More Round Out Cast For 'The Hand Job'

While we’re still giggling at the words “hand job” populating movie sites over the last few days, the cast for the upcoming comedy that is yes, based around that very act, is turning out to be quite impressive. We chatted with Bill Hader recently, actor and husband of comedienne Maggie Carey who is writing and directing the project, and he dropped that Alia Shawkat (”Arrested Development”), Mae Whitman (“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”), Johnny Simmons (ditto), Donald Glover (”Community”), Connie Britton (”Friday Night Lights”), Andy Samberg and himself were all lined up for the film joining Aubrey Plaza who is taking on the lead role. And now a few more names have cropped up as well.

Variety reports that Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Scott Porter (“Friday Night Lights”) and Dominic Dierkes (writer for “The Onion News Network” who also penned that viral video “Blowjob Girl“) have come aboard “The Hand Job.” Hader describes the plot as following, “….type-A, studious girl who graduates high school and hasn’t done anything with a guy. The summer before college she decides that she has to find out how to do everything in order to be properly prepared, so she makes a very serious bullet list of everything, like… hand-job, titty-fuck, blow-job, fingering, and just kinda checks one off every time she does it. She’s being the aggressor and is very straight-forward about it, like ‘Okay, so I’m going to give you a hand-job now.’ And the guys are very taken aback about it, especially her straight-laced friends.”

So, who will be doing what? Britton will play Plaza’s liberal, free-spirited mother, Porter will take on the role of a grunge rocker Plaza has a crush on, Simmons will be a classmate and Mintz-Plasse his sci-fi dork best bud. Dierkes, Pierson and Glover will play a trio of lifeguards while Hader will play a stoned pool manager. Still to be cast is Plaza’s older sister and her conservative father. No word yet on Samberg’s part in the film.

Financing is still coming together for the film, so no start date has been set just yet. But with this array of talent, we couldn’t be more excited.
