Christopher Walken, John Turturro, Sharon Stone Lead Randomly Amazing Cast Of 'Gods Behaving Badly'

This morning we opined that sometimes “even months before release, [a film] is clearly fated for horrible reviews, worse box office and a quick trip to the bargain bin.” It’s usually a gut instinct and while “Gods Behaving Badly” could turn out to be great, given the premise and cast assembled here it kind of has camp classic written all over it.

Christopher Walken, John Turturro, Sharon Stone, Alicia Silverstone, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Oliver Platt, Edie Falco, Phylicia Rashad, Nelsan Ellis, Gideon Glick, Henry Zebrowski and Rosie Perez are set to star in the film, an adaptation of the novel by Marie Phillips about a bunch of Greek gods who live together in a brownstone in New York, doing everyday jobs and living like us mere mortals, who cross paths with a young couple, testing their relationship. How could this possibly go wrong!?

Silverstone and Moss-Bachrach will play Kate and Neil and the line up of the gods is simply astounding: Aphrodite — Sharon Stone, Apollo — Oliver Platt, Artemis — Edie Falco, Demeter — Phylicia Rashad, Dionysus — Nelsan Ellis, Eros — Gideon Glick, Hades — John Turturro, Hermes — Henry Zebrowski, Persephone — Rosie Perez and Zeus — Christopher Walken. Again — how could this go wrong?

Josh Goldfaden and Marc Turtletaub (producer of “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Jack Goes Boating” and “My Idiot Brother“) adapted the screenplay and the latter will make his feature directing debut. Lensing begins this month in New York City and we can’t wait to see the results good or bad. [Movieline]
