“Rock is a state of mind. You either live it, or you don’t live it. ” Truer words have never been spoken, and who better to say them than the lead singer of one of rock’s most recognizable bands, Michael Starr of Steel Panther. Starr is just one of the many artists audiences meet throughout the upcoming musical documentary as they learn the history and development of rock and metal, titled ‘Come On Feel The Noize.’
2019 has been a productive year with the release of several musically-themed films post the massive commercial success of 2018’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Films such as Netflix’s Mötley Crüe biopic, “The Dirt,” and Beyoncé’s concert documentary, “Homecoming,” saw varying degrees of critical buzz but received huge audience praise. On the theatrical end, the big screens have been graced by the likes of the Elton John musical pic, “Rocketman,” which saw critical and enormous commercial success (and a nice bit of award buzz) followed by “Yesterday’ and “Blinded by the Light” — films inspired by the music of The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen respectively.
‘Come On Feel the Noize’ looks like a great and unique addition to the ranks of this year’s musically-themed films; bringing audiences into the world of rock and metal but without the Hollywood glitz and glam of its contemporaries. In the immortal words of Michael Monroe, “God bless rock and roll.” And if there is one takeaway from this film’s trailer: Rock and roll is here to stay.
Here is the official synopsis for the upcoming documentary.
