Comic-con 2008, Robert Rodriguez Talks About "Red Sonja," Keanu Reeves Destroys A Classic

San Diego is already bracing itself for the inevitable rush of comic-book aficionados who will be taking the town by storm on July 24th for the annual Comic-Con geek festival. The schedule for the first day of the event has been released and to the untrained eye these events look incredibly boring, maybe even humorous. Nonetheless, a few appearances stuck out to us amateurs.

Director Robert Rodriguez (“Sin City”) and actress Rose McGowan (“Grindhouse”) will be there to discuss their upcoming project, the adaptation of every comic nerds stimuli of choice, “Red Sonja.” That should be interesting
Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly will be available to talk about their remake of the allegorical cold-war lecture, “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” [ed. Good lord, what is happening to Connelly’s career these days?]
“Six Feet Under” creator and director of the upcoming coming of age story, “Towelhead“, will be present to talk about his new HBO series which will be premiering this September, “True Blood,” set in the not-so-distant future and follows a group of vampires as they struggle to integrate into a small southern town.

Other than that it’s nerd central shit and graphic novel circle-jerks that we could give a rat’s ass about. Let’s hope for losers the world round this event gets slightly more interesting.
