Beautiful, insecure, talented, ambitious, shy, sexy, manipulative, charming, sweet, sad…Marilyn Monroe was all of these things and more. And Michelle Williams captured every side of Monroe in her Oscar-nominated turn in "My Week With Marilyn," a slice out of the legendary actress' life that serves as an illuminating window onto the price of fame, and the weight of expectation.
Directed by Simon Curtis, the drama centers on Colin Clark (played by Eddie Redmayne), an employee of Sir Laurence Olivier's production company, who documented the tense interaction between Olivier and Marilyn Monroe during the making of "The Prince and the Showgirl" during the late 1950s. Clark quickly became close with Monroe during the filming, and "My Week With Marilyn" is a dramatization of the brief time he spent with her. The movie features an all-star cast of supporting players including Kenneth Branagh as Olivier (also nominated for an Oscar), Dougray Scott, Judi Dench, Julia Ormond, Derek Jacobi, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones and Emma Watson.
