Getting engaged, breaking up and starting over. For Lola, turning 30 is a bit more complicated than expected in "Lola Versus," the romantic comedy starring Greta Gerwig and Joel Kinnaman. While Gerwig is currently earning accolades for her festival entry "Frances Ha" directed by Noah Baumbach, earlier this summer she hit the big screen in the breezy "Lola Versus" from "Breaking Upwards" helmer Daryl Wein. And if you missed it when it played near you, we'll be able to get you caught up with some Blu-rays for some lucky readers.
The film follows 29-year-old Lola (Gerwig), who is dumped by her fiancé Luke (Kinnaman) just three weeks before the wedding, and she embarks on an emotional, year-long adventure of self-discovery filled with love, loss, hilarity and heartache. Guided (and often misguided) by the well-meaning advice of her close friends and eccentric parents, Lola's chaotic journey en route to the big 3-0 proves that a single tumultuous year can yield the lessons of a lifetime.
