Contest: Win A Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack Copy Of Luc Besson's 'The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec'

null

Somewhere between “Indiana Jones” and “Amèlie” you’ll find Luc Besson‘s “The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec.” The movie is an adaptation of the hugely successful graphic novel series by legendary French artist Jacques Tardi and follows the eponymous writer and a number of recurring side characters in a succession of far-fetched incidents in 1910s Paris and beyond.

Parapsychology and ultra-advanced Ancient Egyptian technology all feature, along with a 136 million year-old pterosaur egg and the President of France. It’s all pretty rollicking stuff and the 54 year old French filmmaker brings an unusual (and very well-received) blend of cutting-edge effects and an old-fashioned, steampunk influenced asthetic to the action-adventure genre. Starring Louise Bourgoin and the always watchable Mathieu Amalric, the movie comes from Besson’s own production house (he also wrote the script and directed) and after a successful run in French cinemas in 2010, is finally arriving now arriving stateside on a Blu-ray Combo Pack via Shout! Factory. To mark the occasion we have a chance for you to get your hands on your very own copy.

To win, simply email us with your and name and address and tell us your favorite film of Luc Besson and why (this writer will always have a soft spot for “Nikita“). Good luck!

Check out three clips from ‘Adele’ below. The film is now available in stores.

Update: Contest closed, winners will be contacted via email.
