While Edgar Wright‘s “Baby Driver” is currently providing some pure genre thrills on the big screen, there’s another movie that you might’ve missed this year that provides the same feeling of flat-out entertainment: Ben Wheatley‘s “Free Fire.” The good news is that we have some copies to give away to some lucky readers, whether you’re seeing it for the first time, or are a fan of the flick already.
Starring Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Armie Hammer, Sam Riley, and Sharlto Copley, the film is set in gritty 1970s Boston, where Justine, a mysterious American businesswoman, and her wise-cracking associate Ord arrange a black-market weapons deal in a deserted warehouse between IRA arms buyer Chris and shifty South African gun runner Vernon. What starts as a polite-if-uneasy exchange soon goes south when tensions escalate and shots are fired, quickly leading to a full-on Battle Royale where it’s every man (and woman) for themselves. Essentially, the movie is longest, wildest gun fight you’re likely to see.
