“Blockers” is a rare comedy that rises above the silly premise. The film is able to combine the raunch and language you come to expect with an R-rated comedy, but also fits in plenty of heart and a surprisingly great message that makes the whole package one of the best of the year. Now, the film is available to own and enjoy in the comfort of your own home, and to celebrate, we’re going to give away some copies to our readers.
And to give you a peek at what you get when you win the contest, we have a look at one of the behind-the-scenes special features. In the clip (seen below), you see the basic premise of the movie, that a trio of protective parents find out their kids have formed a “sex pact” for prom and they’re going to, as the title suggests, cock block. But as director Kay Cannon, best known for writing all three “Pitch Perfect” films, says in the clip, the real reason the parents don’t like it is because a sex pact is just “weird.”
However, since there’s this thing called the Internet and you don’t actually have to go to Best Buy and purchase DVDs or Blu-rays, we’re going to save the postage and give you redeemable codes to watch “Blockers” through the Movies Anywhere service. For those that aren’t familiar with Movies Anywhere, it’s a service that allows you to store all your iTunes, Google Play, Vudu, Amazon Prime, and FandangoNow purchases in one service, so you don’t have to worry about keeping track of all those films.
So, to win your copy of “Blockers,” all you have to do is follow us on Facebook and Twitter, tweet: “I want to win a copy of ‘Blockers’ from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest,” and include the URL of this story. Your final step: just email us your tweet to playlistcontests@gmail.com, with your full name and email address, and tell us the name of your favorite R-rated comedy. Good luck!
