Contest: Win Documentary 'For No Good Reason' On Blu-ray Plus Poster Signed By Ralph Steadman

For No Good ReasonYou may not know his name, but you know his style at first glance. Ralph Steadman most famously brought vivid life to the covers of books by gonzo writer Hunter S. Thompson like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail ’72", illustrated editions of classic books like "Treasure Island," "Animal Farm" and "Fahrenheit 451," and in so doing influenced a generation of artists. Steadman is now this subject of a documentary, "For No Good Reason," and we’ve got some copies on Blu-ray for some lucky readers and one pretty great grand prize. But first here’s a synopsis of what the movie is all about:

Made over 15 years, Charlie Paul’s For No Good Reason explores the connection between life and art – through the eyes of seminal British artist Ralph Steadman, who gained fame during the crazy ’70s for his illustrations that accompanied the writings of gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson, most notably Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

Actor Johnny Depp interviews Steadman in his country home, while other contributions come from Terry Gilliam and Richard E. Grant.  Filled with Steadman`s images (satirical, surrealist, splattery), the documentary ranges from his wild days with Thompson (including their trip to the Rumble in the Jungle) to gun fights with literary giant William S. Burroughs.

With music from Slash, All American Rejects, Jason Mraz, James Blake, Ed Harcourt and Crystal Castles, the film marks the directorial debut of Britain’s Charlie Paul, who worked as an advertising director for many years.

So this doc features great talent and famous faces coming together to tell the life story of a man whose visionary art left an indelible mark on the early 1970s. So how can you win a copy of the Blu-ray and, for one reader, a copy of the film poster signed by Ralph Steadman?
