Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” is more or less a greatest hits compendium of all the filmmaker’s cinematic affinities: the mistrust and game of show-and-tell featured in “True Romance” and “Inglourious Basterds”; the chamber drama qualities and lack of a true hero in “Reservoir Dogs”; the Western sensibilities of “Django Unchained” and “Kill Bill 2”; and the issues of race that have permeated his pictures throughout his entire career.

For “The Hateful Eight,” Tarantino added themes of American identity as well as wintry elements of John Carpenter’s “The Thing” and the musical signature of his frequent composer Ennio Morricone, all shot and presented in glorious 70mm. The film, Tarantino’s eighth, recently hit Blu-Ray and DVD ,and we’ve got copies of the Blu-Ray to give away.
