Contest: Win The 'Boyhood: Twelve Years On Film' Hardcover Photography Book

Boyhood, behind the scenes

The sensation of Sundance, and this summer’s indie blockbuster, Richard Linklater‘s twelve-year filmmaking gamble "Boyhood" paid off in a big way. Winning over critics, audiences and colleagues (Christopher Nolan calls it an "extraordinary film"), the filmmaker’s unique coming-of-age story plucked the heartstrings, while also impressing with its ambition. And now, you can track the filmmaker’s journey in a brand new photography book.

"Boyhood: Twelve Years on Film" presents author and photographer Matt Lankes chronicle of the film’s progress with his 4×5 camera, creating portraits, behind-the-scenes photos and more across the decade-plus production. It’s a unique look at the passage of time of everyone involved with "Boyhood," and when combined with input from those involved as well, it creates a one-of-a-kind capsule fans of the movie will want to treasure. And we’ve got a couple for some lucky readers.
To win, follow us on Twitter and tweet: “I want to win Boyhood from @ThePlaylist. #WinThePlaylistContest.” Your final step: just email us your tweet, your full name and address, and tell us who you would want to direct the movie about your childhood. Good luck!
