You already know that we’re huge fans of David Lowery‘s film “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,” starring Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster; a lyrical, meditative take on the Southern gothic family crime drama, and a deeply felt love story all rolled into one. At its debut at Sundance, we wrote in our review that, “Lowery is the real deal and understands filmmaking, and this is abundantly clear in this searing, romantic crime drama and love story.” We also put the film on our “13 Films to See in August” list, and now we’re here to help you do just that.
On the evening of Tuesday, August 13th, in Los Angeles, The Playlist will be co-hosting a special screening of “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” and we have five pairs of tickets to give away to our readers for this event. I will also be there to hang out and watch the film (and may have another Playlister in tow as well), and all told, it should be a very fun evening. So, if you’re in L.A. (or can get to L.A. by Tuesday), this is a great opportunity to see “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” before its release on August 16th.
