In an interview with MTV, Amanda Seyfried has teased the name of the actor being lined up to play the werewolf antagonist in Catherine Hardwicke’s ‘Red Riding Hood,’ which will co-star the likes of Gary Oldman, Julie Christie, Max Irons and Shiloh Fernandez.
While she refused to drop the actor’s name in full “because [she didn’t] want to jinx it,” Seyfried did note that the actor had the initials “VC” — the first name that came to our minds was Gallic thesp Vincent Cassel, who definitely fits the part with his brooding looks, has an affiliation with antagonists stateside and seems to fit well with Oldman and Christie in the cast.
Cassel will also seemingly be free for the July to September shoot in Vancouver with both David Cronenberg’s “A Dangerous Method” and “The Monk” scheduled to be completed by then. It’s mainly speculation on our behalf but, man, we just talked ourselves into excitement for Cassel as the werewolf.
