Crisis Averted: Nicolas Cage Will Star In Joel Schumacher's 'Trespass' After All; Cam Gigandet Joins Cast

Good news for Joel Schumacher and bad news for the rest of us, but Nicolas Cage, who appeared to have abandoned the forthcoming thriller “Trespass,” will indeed star in the film which he seemed to have abandoned yesterday.

It appears the actor’s brain was simply fried following a lengthy press jaunt for “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” The film follows a married couple who are taken hostage by a group thieves. Cage had originally signed on to play the husband to Nicole Kidman’s wife, then switched to the lead villain role, and now appears to have settled on playing the husband again. As we previously reported Jordana Spiro has joined the cast and according to the latest issue of Production Weekly, Cam Gigandet is the last piece of the casting puzzle in what we assume we be the role of the lead kidnapper, with Spiro playing the girlfriend who is drawn into the mess.

Production has been pushed back slightly with from an August 16th to a August 30th start in Louisiana. No word yet on what brought him back to the project, but we imagine the $7 million paycheck was probably a big factor.
