Have you ever watched a “Wallace and Gromit” film and wondered where all the weird sex stuff was? Or maybe you watched ‘LEGO Movie’ and thought that the film could have done a lot better if there were characters doing cocaine and eviscerating each other? Well, if so, Hulu has a treat for you with the new comedy series, “Crossing Swords.”
As seen in the first teaser for “Crossing Swords,” the series follows the story of a peasant (Nicholas Hoult) that lands the role of squire at the royal castle. But once there, the lowly worker finds that the castle is filled to the brim with weird sex stuff, incredible amounts of violence, and rulers that are likely a bit psychotic and/or idiotic. You know, just as the Medieval times were.
As mentioned, the series stars the voice of Nicholas Hoult, who is joined in the cast by Adam Ray, Tara Strong, Tony Hale, Luke Evans, Seth Green, Alanna Ubach, Adam Pally, Yvette-Nicole Brown, Maya Erskine, Breckin Meyer, and Wendi McClendon-Covey. “Crossing Swords” comes from the minds of co-creators John Harvatine IV and Tom Root, who previously worked on the Adult Swim series, “Robot Chicken.”
Hulu is set to debut all 10 episodes of “Crossing Swords” on June 12.
Here’s the synopsis:
Created by Robot Chicken’s John Harvatine IV and Tom Root, Crossing Swords stars Nicholas Hoult as Patrick, a good hearted peasant who lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle. However, his dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks and charlatans. Even worse, Patrick’s valor made him the black sheep in his family, and now his criminal siblings have returned to make his life hell. War, murder, full frontal nudity—who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives?
