Dane DeHaan Is Starring In That Metallica Movie 'Metallica Through The Never' Coming Out Later This Year

nullMan, we totally forgot about this. First announced nearly a year ago, Metallica and "Predators" director Nimrod Antal revealed they were embarking on a concert movie, that also would have some kind of narrative. We all kind of rolled our eyes and said "Cool, whatevs" and then nothing much else was heard. But today the movie lands with a new company, a release date and even an actor in the thing.

Dane HeHaan stars in the somewhat silly titled "Metallica Through The Never" (what does that mean? Did J.J. Abrams take 'Into The Darkness'?) that will also feature members of the band in the story that follows a young crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while the band is playing a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down. Cue: "Nothing Else Matters." And while it was reported earlier that the movie would be in 3D, that doesn't appear to have happened.

That's probably because the picture is being released through former Apparition and FilmDistrict honcho Bob Berney's newly relaunched Picturehouse. The company will still release the movie into theaters (probably limited), but they've inked a deal with Netflix who will exclusively be home to the movie following its brief spell at the multiplex. And 3D doesn't work on your computer — yet.

So if you're ready to rock out with your Bic lighter, you can check out "Metallica Through The Never" on August 9th in a theater near you.
