Here's a little bit of reality to dampen your excitement. Earlier this week it was reported that "Skyfall" screenwriter John Logan had been hired to write a lengthy James Bond story that would take place over the course of two films, "Bond 24" and "Bond 25" essentially. Considering it's never been done before and the idea would be ambitious for the Bond series, the appetites of many fans were whetted over the news.
But according to Daniel Craig, in an interview with Filmstarts.De (via /Film), that's not going to happen.
"No, I don’t know where that’s come from. It’s impossible to do a two parter," he said. "I heard that someone was talking about that we’re doing a two parter, but that’s the first I’ve heard about it. We can only do them one at a time, they take six months to shoot. You can’t write one movie thinking about the next. All we’re trying to do is get the next one sorted out and it’ll stand on its own and if I’m able I’ll do another one after that."
The recent report said that Logan had pitched an "original two-movie arc" to Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, and apparently had already started putting pen to paper. Is Daniel Craig out of the loop? Perhaps the Bond producers haven't agreed to anything yet? We're sure that more news will probably surface soon.
One thing seems certain: despite great reviews for "Skyfall" (including ours), director Sam Mendes will likely not return for another Bond film. Watch the interview with Craig below.
