It’s been speculated and rumored for months, and those in the press who have had screeners for weeks (embargo!) have known about it for a while too, but the official cat is out of the bag: the villain Bullseye will appear on Marvel’s “Daredevil” season three? Well, “Daredevil” diehards have been wondering when this fan-favorite would finally appear, and well, he’s here in season 3, revealed as Agent Dex (Wilson Bethel from “How to Get Away With Murder” a sharp-shooting FBI agent who goes off the deep end thanks to Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Today at New York Comic-Con, the “Daredevil” cast in attendance made it official, and Charlie Cox got off his chair and drew the bullseye logo on Bethel’s forehead (they take this stuff seriously). Moments later, Netflix released this new trailer teasing season three as the origin story of Bullseye and how he went from decorated FBI agent, to deranged killer thanks to the Kingpin. He’s also, as you can probably tell, the “Fake doppelganger Daredevil” seen in the recent trailer.
If you feel like it’s anticlimactic and you already knew, well, Marvel’s Jeph Loeb agrees with you and called it Marvel’s “worst kept secret.”
Missing for months, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reemerges a broken man, putting into question his future as both vigilante Daredevil and lawyer Matthew Murdock. But when his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is released from prison, Matt must choose between hiding from the world or embracing his destiny as a hero. Marvel’s Daredevil season three launches worldwide on Netflix October 19.
Erik Oleson (The Man in the High Castle) serves as showrunner and executive producer. The cast also features Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Joanne Whalley (Sister Maggie), Wilson Bethel (Benjamin Poindexter) and Jay Ali (Rahul “Ray” Nadeem).
