The Dark Knight Returns In New Trailer For 'The Lego Batman Movie'

Batman has only grown darker and more intense with each passing screen incarnation, which is what made Will Arnett‘s comedic take in “The Lego Movie” so endearing. Nearly stealing the breakout animated hit from the rest of the ensemble, Arnett’s version of the depressed Bruce Wayne now has his own movie, and frankly, I’m more excited for it than “Justice League.”

Directed by Chris McKay, and featuring a great voice cast including Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Barbara Gordon, and Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, the movie will see Batman take on his biggest enemy, who will probably get more screentime here than Jared Leto did in “Suicide Squad.” Here’s the official synopsis:

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.

“The Lego Batman Movie” opens on February 10, 2017.
