While “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” director David Lowery hasn’t set his next feature effort, he is getting back behind the camera at the moment, and doing his first TV project at the same time. The filmmaker tweeted today that he’s in the midst of work on episode of Sundance‘s critically acclaimed series “Rectify.”

No word on which particular episode, but with season two kicking off on June 19th, we’re sure to find out soon enough. We’re just glad to something else from Lowery to watch, especially if it’s part of an already solid project.

Wagner Moura, who broke out in Jose Padilha‘s “Elite Squad” movies, is reteaming with the director for a 13-part Netflix series about famed drug dealer Pablo Escobar. The actor will take the lead role in the project that will have the pilot directed by Padilha, with a script by Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard (“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice“), in a show that will track the rise and (probably in later seasons) fall of the drug king. No word yet on when production will begin. [THR]

Speaking of reteaming, Gabourey Sidibe is reuniting with “Precious” director Lee Daniels for “Empire.” The Fox drama, set in the world of hip hop, also has Terrence Howard and  Taraji P. Henson on board, with the title referring to the record label around with the stories will spin. Also joining the project is mega-producer Timbaland, who will write and produce songs for the show. Lastly, Mary Elizabeth Winstead has joined the ABC pilot “Exposed.” She’ll be playing Anna, “an investigative journalist who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth, including making questionable alliances,” in the series based on the books by Swedish writer Liza Marklund. [Deadline]
