David Lynch is now shooting the next season of the revived "Twin Peaks," and working hard to keep as many secrets as possible under wraps until it arrives, likely in 2017. But from what we know so far, the cast is expanding beyond the players from the original two seasons. Amanda Seyfried and Balthazar Getty are among those joining Kyle MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee for more cups of coffee, and slices of pie, and even bigger names could be on the horizon.
Deadline recently reported that Jennifer Jason Leigh had joined the ensemble, but buried a bit deeper in their story was the nugget that Lynch was hoping to land more famous faces, including Naomi Watts. Of course, the actress got her big break in Lynch’s masterpiece "Mulholland Drive," so it would be quite the reunion for the pair. However, like all things "Twin Peaks," it’s unclear what role she’d be taking, or how large or small it might be.
Thoughts? Does "Twin Peaks" really need big name stars or should Lynch be keeping the focus on the ingredients that already made the show special in the first place? Let us know below.
