Details have now emerged on Drake Doremus’ upcoming indie-drama “Like Crazy” starring young thesps Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence.
According to Production Weekly, the film is not a retitled version of Doremus’ gestating adaptation of Andrew Auseon’s “Funny Little Monkey” as we previously hypothesized but rather “a mostly improvised drama that follows the long distance relationship of Jacob, an American and Sam, a young British woman who meet while in college.”
The collaboration of young talent all round is definitely one to keep an eye out for especially with Lawrence recently taking the Sundance Film Festival by storm with her performance in “Winter’s Bone” and Doremus earning warm reviews for “Douchebag” at the same festival. Yelchin is no slouch either and, after starring in blockbusters like ‘Terminator Salvation” and “Star Trek” last year, will soon star in Craig Gillespie’s “Fright Night” remake alongside Colin Farrell and Toni Collete.
Yelchin and Lawrence’s reunion also bodes well for Jodie Foster’s Blacklisted “The Beaver,” which starred the two as the son of Mel Gibson’s protagonist and his girlfriend. The film will hopefully hit in the fall and surely left a good impression on the two thesps for such a quick re-teaming to come together.
Shooting on “Like Crazy” will begin early next month.
